RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team picked up a 4-2 nonconference win over Hamline Wednesday night.
Newcomer
Ryan Cusin scored his first collegiate goal at 12:32 in the first period getting the Falcons on the board first.
Peter Karavos and
Cayden Cahill assisted on the goal.
Charlie Singerhouse finished out the first period with a power play goal at 16:26.
The Pipers scored the only goal of the second period at 10:05 when Weiland Parrish fired one between the legs of Falcon goaltender
Joe Marcouiller.
In the third period,
Charlie Singerhouse scored his second goal of the night on a pass from
Christian Hausinger. Parrish scored another Piper goal at 6:36 getting the Pipers within one goal of the Falcons. The combination of Karavos, Cahill and Cusin came together for another goal at 8:36. This time Karavos found the back of the net.
The Falcon defense fought off five Piper power play opportunities and a minute and a half of additional attackers.
Joe Marcouiller posted 16 saves in goal and collected his fifth win of the season.
The Falcons, who are now 9-8-3 on the season, take the week off before they head into their final conference stretch against UW-Superior and UW-Stout.
