Katie Batters (Champlin, MN, Champlin Park HS) scored two goals and one assist last week to help the Falcons win three of a possible four points and she has been named the NCHA Player of the Week according to league Sports Information Director Brian Manahan.
In Friday's
5-3 win at Hunt Arena, she picked up the first assist on the team's third goal of the game that came at 16:58 of the third period. That goal gave the Falcons a 3-2 lead at the time. In Saturday's
2-2 overtime tie at Eau Claire, she scored both of the team's goals. She scored at 8:02 and 19:06 of the first period. Both goals drew the Falcons to even in the contest.
Batters leads the team currently with 12 goals and 17 points. She has scored two game-winning goals.
The Falcons, ranked No. 8 in this week's USCHO.com poll, host Marian College in a NCHA series this weekend at Hunt Arena. Friday's game starts at 7:05 p.m., followed by Saturday's contest at 2:05 p.m.
