The Falcon men's swimming and diving team competed at the St. Catherine University Invitational on Saturday. The team competed against four other schools and finished third with a total of 428 points.

The University of St. Thomas won the team competition with a point total of 756.

The Falcons were led by David Zaske (Maple Lake, MN, Maple Lake)'s first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke. He finished with a time of 1:02.47 and recorded the fastest interval of the race, 29.09. Zaske also finished second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:18.61, just .42 off of the first place finisher.

Zaske also finished sixth in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:39.83, good enough for 13 team points. Lucas Hetzel (South Milwaukee, WI, South Milwaukee) finished the race with a time of 4:59.63 and picked up nine team points.

Hetzel, Justin Arneson (Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Lincoln), and Mike Schuenke (Faribault, MN, Faribault) won team points in the 500 yard freestyle race. Hetzel finished seventh with a time of 5:24.23 and Arneson and Schuenke finished with times of 6:08.48 and 6:39.25.

Eric Bain (Elkhorn, WI, Elkhorn), Andrew Sisulak (Hartland, WI, Arrowhead), and Peter Brudzinski (Oakdale, MN, Tartan) all won team points with finishes in the 200 yard IM. Bain took sixth with a time of 2:20.45 and Sisulak and Brudzinski recorded times of 2:37.13 and 2:37.42.

Jake Baron (Oregon, WI, Oregon) took a twelfth place finish and 11 team points in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.74. Baron also finished twelfth in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.23.

Tony Ring (Hastings, MN, Hastings) and Sisulak picked up points in the 100 yard freestyle with finishes of 1:03.21 and 1:05.24.

Ring and Isaac Milkey (Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Lincoln) finished sixth and seventh with times of 1:04.43 and 1:05.15 in the 100 yard backstroke. The two also took fourth and fifth in the 200 yard backstroke with times of 2:19.68 and 2:25.07.

Hetzel and Milkey recorded fourth and fifth place finishes in the 1650 yard freestyle with times of 18:51.36 and 19:28.21.

Zaske, Hetzel, Ring, and Baron finished fifth as a team in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.86.

The 200 yard medley relay team of Milkey, Bain, Ring and, Arneson finished fifth with a time of 1:52.64.

Bain, Hetzel, Zaske, and Baron finished fourth in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:34.85.
