UW-River Falls senior linebacker Andy Metcalf (La Crosse, Wis.) led the Falcons’ defense to a 41-24 road win at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, playing a role in three Blugold turnovers. Metcalf recorded a pair of interceptions for a combined return yardage of 51 yards, including a 21-yard interception in the fourth quarter that led to a UWRF touchdown to push the Falcon lead to 34-17. In addition, Metcalf tallied five solo tackles, a fumble recovery, and recovered the UWEC onside kick attempt at the end of the game to seal the win.
