Junior men's basketball player Alex Herink has been named the Royal Credit Union Falcon Athlete of the week. Herink had the game winning three point shot that gave the No. 17 Falcons the win over No. 7 UW-Eau Claire Wednesday January 4th. In the game, he scored 23 points, shot 52.9 percent from the field, was 2-3 from the 3-point range, and was 3-4 on free throws. He had an even better game against UW-Platteville Jan. 7, when he put up 26 points, shot 57.1 percent, and was 8-8 on free throws. On the week, he averaged 24.5 points per game on 54.8 percent shooting from the floor, 50 percent from the 3-point range and 91.7 percent from the free throw line. He also recorded 12 total rebounds.
