UWRF track & field men's freshman high jumper Yaih Marial finished ninth of 20 athletes in the men's high jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 11 in Birmingham, Ala., with a mark of six feet, 7.75 inches (2.03 meters), just shy off the top-eight All-America honors. The WIAC Men's Indoor Newcomer of the Year was just a couple inches short of his personal best.
