At the University of Minnesota’s Jack Johnson Classic Jan. 26-27 in Minneapolis, Minn., UWRF freshman Jacob Balcome won the men’s heptathlon with 4,881 points, the second-highest point total in UWRF indoor history. Balcome completed personal records in six of seven events, including a seven-second lifetime best time in the 1,000-meter run, a three-inch improvement in the high jump, and two feet in the long jump. He is currently ranked eighth nationally.
