Freshman Lauryn Schutz excelled in throws at the UW-Stout Warren Bowlus Open on Saturday, Feb. 1, placing second in the women’s shot put with a throw of 12.60 meters (41-04.25) and fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 15.76 meters (51-08.5).  Both throws are career best for Schutz, who moved up to fourth on the UWRF all-time list for weight throw and ninth for shot put. Schutz ranks 11th in the North Region in weight throw and 16th in shot put.
