Balcome was crowned the NCAA Indoor Championships national champion in the men's heptathlon March 13-14 in Rochester, N.Y., breaking a UWRF record with his first place point total of 5,304 points. Balcome is the first Falcon indoor national champion since 2012, and the second all-time in program history.
