Schommer continued his strong start to the season, punting for an average of 48.1 yards against Missouri Baptist University on Sept. 15. It was his second straight game averaging over 45 yards. Against Missouri Baptist, Schommer had three punts over 50 yards, including a long of 57. He downed five of his punts inside the 20, including two that were downed inside the 5 yard line.
