The Falcon men's outdoor track & field team opened its season on Saturday with an indoor meet at St. Thomas.
The meet was moved indoors due to poor weather and field conditions.
The Falcons hurdlers had a great day in the 60-meter hurdles.
Matt Shutey won the race in 8.19. He was followed by
James Butler (8.30),
Matt Griffin (8.48) and
Tom Thuente (8.49).
Anthony Sumnicht placed third in the 400 in 51.15 and
Donovan Nelson placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 40-2.
The Falcons will next compete in the Phil Esten Challenge at UW-La Crosse on Friday with action starting at 3 p.m.
