The UW-River Falls Falcons (2-1) traveled to Carleton College (0-2) on Wednesday and flew higher than the Knights on the night winning the game 58-51.
UWRF shot 8-24 (.33) from the field in the first half which brought the Falcons to a six point lead at the half, 22-16. Carleton kicked it up in the second half scoring 35 points, just one point less than the Falcons in the half.
Kate Theisen was the leading scorer for the game scoring a career-high 20 points. Katie Messman and Richell Mehus also hit double-digits for the Falcons with 11 and 10 points respectively. Theisen also led the team in rebounds with six while Jessie Van Wyhe also added six rebounds and six points.Â
Michele Arima led the Knights in scoring with 15 points. Skylar Tsutsui scored 14 as well for the Knights.
The Falcons play next on Saturday. It will be the Falcons first home game. UWRF will take on St. Olaf College at 3 p.m.
