The UW-River Falls Falcons fell in overtime 3-2 to UW-Eau Claire on the last regular season game of the year. 

It started early for UWEC when they kicked in a goal just over eight minutes into the game to give themselves a 1-0 lead. Caroline Henderson put in her fifth goal of the season to start the scoring, but UWRF did notfail to put up a fight.

Five minutes before the intermission, Abby Solderholm put in her eighth goal of the season to tie the game. Solderholm's goal came on a free kick. She was at it again after the break when she put a header into the back of the net for her second goal of the game. Kenzie Weisman assisted on the goal.

It looked like the Falcons might fly away victorious, but Eau Claire tied it up with less than two minutes left in regulation. Sami Matuszak put in a goal to tie the game and send the game into overtime.

Five minutes into OT, Eau Claire put in the winning goal. Tara Dennehy scored the goal with her fifth of the season to lead Eau Claire to victory.

Eau Claire out shot River Falls in the game 16-10.

The win moves Eau Claire into third place heading into the WIAC playoffs while UWRF drops to fourth. The Falcons will host a playoff game on Tuesday starting at 7 p.m.
