The seventh nationally ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team finished the sweep over the eighth ranked UW-Superior Yellowjackets with a 4-1 road victory to extend the Falcons' winning steak to six games.
Four different Falcons scored on Saturday night in Superior, Wisconsin, and freshman goaltender
Angie Hall (8-2) made 19 stops in the victory.

Carly Moran scored the game's first goal with 31 seconds left in the first period as she slipped the puck past Yellowjackets junior goaltender Megan Leikkari (3-3). Moran's seventh goal of the season was assisted by junior forward
Chloe Kinsel and sophomore forward
Karleigh Wolkerstorfer. Kinsel now has 14 assists on the season, six more than any other Falcon, while Wolkerstorfer bumped her assist total to seven.

Paige Johnson, Moran and Wolkerstorfer each had two shots on goal in the period. Both teams went 0-1 on the power play in the first.
The Falcons used the momentum from the late first period goal to up the lead to 2-0 with a goal from sophomore forward
Emily Stark at 4:38 of the second period. Stark's third of the season was assisted by senior captain defenseman

Brianna Breiland. Greeley now has six assists on the season and Breiland has four.
The Yellowjackets scored a late second period goal to cut the deficit to 2-1. Sophomore forward Hailey Adair beat Hall with nine seconds left in the period with an assist to senior captain forward Haley Olmstead. Adair's goal was her fourth and Olmstead's assist was her fifth.
UWRF outshot Superior 8-6 in the second period, but both teams exited with a goal. UWRF went 0-1 on the power play in the period, while Superior went 0-2. Senior defenseman

Cranston doubled the Falcon lead at 11:44 of the third period with her eighth goal of the season with an assist to sophomore defenseman

Johnson sealed the victory with an empty net goal with 1:02 left in the game. Johnson's sixth goal of the season was unassisted. UWRF outshot Superior 14-9 in the third period and 33-20 for the game. Both teams finished 0-3 on the power play. Wolkerstorfer led UWRF with six shots on goal.
UWRF improves to 9-2 overall, 3-1 on the road, and 5-1 in the WIAC. Superior falls to 7-4 overall, 3-2 at home, and 3-3 in the WIAC. The Yellowjackets have now lost two straight. UWRF is now 27-23-3 all-time against Superior.
The Falcons host the Gustavus Adolphus College Gusties at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10. The Falcons are 5-18-4 against Gustavus Adolphus.
