PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) - The Women's volleyball team won a close WIAC match Friday night (10.7.16) against the UW-Platteville Pioneers at 7pm in Williams Fieldhouse.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Falcons fought through their match and were able to defeat their opponent in 4 sets. The scores were 25-17, 20-25, 26-24, and 25-15.
• The Falcons finished the night with a match high of 44 kills coming from leader Mallory Griffin with 13, following her was Amara Meyer (8) Dakotah Poitra (7) Hannah Striggow (7) Addie Eamon (5) and Raven Klein. (4)
• Raven Klein had a match high of 36 assists, following her was Hannah Robb with 5.
• The Falcons finished with a total of 7 ace serves. Hannah Robb finished the night with 3, Raven Klein (2) and Mallory Griffin and Hannah Striggow finished with 1 each.
• Hannah Robb led the falcons and held a match high of 18 digs. Dakotah Poitra had 13, Hannah Striggow had another 11, and Raven Klein finished with 10.

 
 
THE OPPOSITION

• The Pioneers had an overall hitting percentage of .110
• Lindsey Decker led her team with 11 digs, Lidia Frias followed her with 8, and Allie Carter finished with 7.
• Both Allison Jensen and Ashlee Moore led the Pioneers with 10 kills each.

 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons will take on UW-Whitewater tomorrow (10.8.16) at noon.   The Warhawks are currently ranked 12 in the latest AVCA Top 25 Coaches poll.  Later in the week the Falcons host the College of St. Scholastica (10.12.16) at 7pm before the volleyball team heads to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to partake in the UW-Eau Claire Tournament.
