ASHLAND, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's volleyball team had another strong showing on day two of the Northland College Invite. The Falcons came out winning the first match against the Finlandia University Lions 3-0 and then again winning the second match against UW-Superior 3-0. The Falcons are on track to have the best start since 2013 when they were 8-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST FINLANDIA UNIVERSITY
- The Falcons took all three sets of the first match shutting out the Lions (25-21, 25-9, 25-16) and outscoring them 50-25.
- This was the sixth match that the Falcons have shut out their opponent and not allowed them to win a set.
- In the second set, the Falcons went on a nine point run to beat the Lions 25-9.
- The Lions took their only lead of the match in the third set before the Falcons shut them down and went on a seven point run.
- The Falcons outhit the Lions in each set for a combined total of .264 compared to the Lion's .033.
- Amara Meyer led the Falcons with a match high nine kills and two blocks. Dakotah Poitra and Addie Eamon followed with eight and six kills.
- Hannah Robb collected 15 digs.
- Defensively Addie Eamon led the way with four blocks and Hannah Robb had 14 digs.
- Raven Klein had 27 assists to lead all players in the match.
THE OPPOSITION
- The Lions were led by Katelyn Anderson who had seven kills.
- Jessie Diaz had 15 digs.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Falcons had a tougher battle in match two only outscoring the Yellowjackets 54-39.
- This was the 7th match in a row that the Falcons have shut out their opponents in sets making their current total 21 undefeated sets.
- The Falcons had 39 kills compared to the Yellowjackets 29 and outhit them .258 to .129.
- Mallory Griffin had a strong showing for the Falcons having six kills, two blocks and leading the team with 15 digs.
- Amara Meyer hit .375 with 12 kills in 24 attempts.
- Dakotah Poitra had 11 kills.
- The Falcons had 11 aces with four of them coming from Hannah Robb and three from Maddy Stall.
- Raven Klein had 32 assists and eight digs.
- Dakotah Poitra and Amara Meyer were named to the All-Tournament Team.
THE OPPOSITION
- The Yellowjackets put up six aces against the Falcons the most an opposing team had during the tournament.
- Brylee Colligan had ten kills for UW-Superior.
- Emily VerWay had a team high 21 assists and digs (13).
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Falcons will travel to Chicago to compete in the North Park Invite. First game will be Friday evening against Nebraska Wesleyan followed by Aurora University.
