Box Score 2 RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The Falcons took part in the second day of the Cornell Invite. The Falcons fell in their first WIAC game of the year against UW-Platteville 0-3 and lost to the University of Chicago 0-3 to finish the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- The Falcons fell in the first set to the Pioneers 25-18 and managed just 54 points in the match against Platteville.
- The team was led by middle hitter Amara Meyer who had a match high 11 kills. Addie Eamon had seven and setter Raven Klein had four kills.
- UWRF got four aces in the match, two from Hannah Striggow, one from Dakotah Poitra, and one from Klein.
- Blocking in the match, UWRF had six with Klein, Eamon, and Meyer each having 2.
- Klein led the Falcons in assists in the match with 21. Mallory Griffin had three and Hannah Robb registered two.
- Digging in the match for the Falcons was Robb with 11. Poitra had six and Griffin had five.
- The Falcons had an overall hitting percentage of .080
- The final two sets were scored 25-23 and 25-13.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- Later on in the day, the Falcons took on the University of Chicago and couldn't get the offense rolling and fell in three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 25-18.
- With a total of 28 kills, the Falcons got eight kills from Poitra, four from Meyer, and four from Kyra Harvey.
- UWRF had just two aces in the match, both coming from Robb.
- Klein had 22 assists in the match, combining for a total of 83 in the two day weekend.
- The Falcons back row had a solid night, Robb had 16 digs, Striggow had 11 and Poitra dug eight.
- UWRF finished with .087 hitting percentage.
THE OPPOSITION
- In game one, the Pioneers used a balanced attack with Allison Jenson having 10 kills, Ashlee Moore with eight, and Merritt Johnson with five kills.
- Chicago's leaders were Anabella Pinton with 12 kills, Sarah Muisenga with 11, and Kathryn LaPorte adding eight.
- Erin Risk had a match high 35 assists for Chicago while adding 14 digs to her name as well.

The Falcons will regroup at home with a WIAC match against UW-Eau Claire at Karges Arena. The start time is 7 p.m. The last time the Falcons and Blugolds met, the Blugolds won 3-0 in Eau Claire.
