Women's Basketball Leads Start to Finish in Win Over Jills

River Falls, WI (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team led start to finish in a nonconference 66-40 win against Northland College Friday evening at Page Arena.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • Brynn Liljander started the game with a three pointer and the Falcons never looked back leading start to finish against the Jills. 
  • Liljander connected on three more shots from beyond the arc and finished the first quarter 4-4 on three point shots
  • In the second quarter, the Falcons had a 15-6 run. 
  • At the half, the Falcons led 38-20 on 15-28 shooting (53.6 percent).  Brynn Liljander had 14 points. 
  • The Jills started the second half with a seven point run before the Falcons finished the quarter on a 13-1 run. 
  • The Falcons went into the fourth quarter with a 21 point lead and extended that to as high as 29 points.  
  • In the second half, the bench combined for 24 of the 26 points the Falcons scored.  Crystal Pearson had eight points. 
 
IN-DEPTH LOOK
  • Brynn Liljander connected on four three-point shots to have a team high 14 points.  She was 4-6 beyond the arc and 5-8 from the floor.
  • Crystal Pearson came off the bench and scored 10 on the night for UWRF. She was 3-4 from the floor, 4-4 from the line and also had four rebounds.
  • Taylor Karge had eight points on 4-7 shooting from the floor.  She also had two rebounds.
  • As a team, the Falcons shot 47.1 percent from the floor on 24-51 shooting.  They hit nine three-point shots and were 9-15 (60.0 percent) from the charity stripe.

THE OPPOSITION
  • Katherine Taylor was the leading scorer for the Lumber Jills.  She connected for 17 points off the bench on 6-12 shooting from the floor.
  • Emily Wagner had seven points on 2-7 shooting.  She was 3-4 from the line. 
  • Autumn Ninke collected a game high six rebounds.
  • The Jills shot 13-43 (30.2 percent) from the floor and connected on five threes and 9-11 (81.8 percent) from the charity stripe.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons who are 4-2 on the season host Luther College at home on December 9th.  Game time is set for 3 p.m.
