(uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's volleyball team improved to 12-1 on the season after two more wins at home during the UW-River Falls Falcon Invite. In the first match of the afternoon, the Falcons took care of the Lions of Finlandia in three sets (25-16, 25-10, 25-23). Game two was more of a battle as the Falcons went to five sets (29-27, 23-35, 16-25, 25-21, 15-10) with St. Olaf.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST FINLANDIA
- The Falcons out played the Lions in all game categories including outscoring the Lions 49-22.Â
- The Falcons hit .264 in the match and had a combined 36 kills.
- Amara Meyer led the team offensively with nine kills and hit .353. Hannah Striggow had six kills and Dakotah Poitra had five.
- Hannah Robb and Poitra each had 16 digs.Â

- Offensively the Lions hit .011. Their best set came in the third when they hit .267.
- Karisa Holmstrom had a team high six kills.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ST. OLAF
- In a close back and forth battle that went five sets the Falcons pulled out the 3-2 win in the last two sets.Â
- In set one the Falcons won a 29-27 thriller hitting a match high .361.Â
- The Falcons out hit St. Olaf .217 to .193.
- The Falcon offense had a combined 56 kills and were led by Hannah Striggow who had 17 kills and hit .286. Amara Meyer had 14 kills.Â
- Dakotah Poitra had 20 of the Falcons 65 digs in the match. Hannah Robb had 18 and Hannah Striggow had eight.Â
THE OPPOSITION
- Offensively the Lions hit .193 and had a combined 58 kills.
- Summer Reid led the Lions both offensively and defensively having a double double 16 kills and 25 digs.
