Falcons Sweep at Hamline Triangular

ST. PAUL, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's volleyball team travelled to the Hamline Triangular on Saturday.  The Falcons won both matchups of the day. They first took on Finlandia University, winning 3-0 (25-8, 25-6, 25-10).  In their second match of the day, the Falcons battled host team Hamline University, ultimately getting the win 3-2 (23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-17, 15-8).

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST FINLANDIA
  • The Falcons won against Finlandia University in three games, (25-8, 25-6, 25-10).
  • Offensively the Falcons hit .361 overall with 36 kills in 72 attempts. 
  • Rayveen Koha-Jallah led the Falcons with 6 kills and hit .333 in 12 attempts.  . 
  • Dakotah Poitra, Katie Koerper, and Brooke Voigt added 4 kills each.
  • Haley Cuba had 22 of the team's 34 assists.
  • Hannah Robb led the team defensively with 10 digs.
  • As a team the Falcons finished the match with 12 blocks and 11 aces.

  • As a team, Finlandia hit -.159.
  • They were led by Taylor Talerico with 3 kills.

  • The Falcons beat Hamline University in five games, (23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-17, 15-8).
  • Offensively, the Falcons hit .222 overall with 57 kills in 167 attempts.
  • Katie Koerper led the Falcons with 18 kills in 40 attempts, hitting .375.
  • Dakotah Poitra and Karli Nielsen each added 9 kills.  Poitra also recorded 17 digs.
  • Hailey Huseth had 46 of the team's 51 assists.
  • Hannah Robb led the Falcons defensively with 23 digs.
  • As a team, the Falcons finished the match with 77 digs, 11 blocks, and 9 aces.
THE OPPOSITION
  • As a team, Hamline hit .183.
  • They were led by Sydney Larson with 15 kills.  
  • Defensively, Hamline was led by Maggie Gavic who recorded 26 digs.
