Women's Soccer Falls to Saint Marys University

 RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The Falcon women's soccer team fell to Saint Mary's University Wednesday afternoon 1-2 in a nonconference matchup at David Smith Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-LA CROSSE
  • The Falcons had a lone goal at the 8th minute of the match.  Mariah Troje scored on a pass from Lindsey Jack.
  • The Cardinals scored their first goal at 3:55. Jordyn Matthews fired in a pass from Mary Loy.
  • Matthews scored again at 15:15 to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead that remained until the 86th minute when the Falcons scored.
  • The Cardinals outshot the Falcons 21-11.  Cardinal Goaltender Gabriella Pederson had four saves in her ninety minutes.  She had two diving saves that kept the Falcons from getting on the board.
  • Troje led the Falcon offense with five shots. 
  • Amanda Ladue had 13 saves in goal for the Falcons. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons return to WIAC play as they host UW-Oshkosh Saturday October 26 at 2 p.m.
