Falcons Dominate at St. Scholastica Triangular

DULUTH, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's volleyball team added two more wins on the season at the St. Scholastica Triangular.  In their first match, the Falcons beat Crown College, 3-0 (25-7, 25-11, 25-18).  The second match of the day brought a victory against College of St. Scholastica, 3-2 (26-28, 25-20, 23-25, 25-16, 15-13).

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CROWN COLLEGE
  • The Falcons beat Crown College in three games, (25-7, 25-11, 25-18 ).
  • Offensively the Falcons hit .409 with 44 kills in 88 attempts. 
  • Dakotah Poitra led the Falcons with 11 kills and hit .500 in 20 attempts.  She also recorded 12 digs. 
  • Mallory Griffin hit .455 with 11 kills in 22 attempts. Sarah Langlois also added 8 kills in 12 attempts, hitting .583.
  • Hailey Huseth had 28 of the team's 43 assists. 
  • Poitra also led the team defensively with 12 digs.
  • As a team the Falcons finished the match with 9 blocks and 4 aces. 

THE OPPOSITION
  • As a team, Crown hit -.010.
  • They were led by Sarah Reinke with 7 kills.  
  • Defensively, Crown was led by Gracie Zieroth with 10 digs.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons won their second match of the day, 3-2 (26-28, 25-20, 23-25, 25-16, 15-13).
  • Overall the Falcons hit .209 with 74 kills in 211 attempts. 
  • Dakotah Poitra led the Falcons offensively with 21 kills; overall hitting .216..
  • Karli Nielsen hit .231 (14 kills, 39 TA) and Katie Koerper and Sarah Langlois added 13 kills each.
  • Hailey Huseth recorded 58 assists. 
  • Hannah Robb led the team defensively with 36 digs.
  • As a team, the Falcons recorded 110 digs and 18 blocks.

THE OPPOSITION 
  • CSS hit .146 overall, led by Jessica Remer with 16 kills.
  • Alcia Draper led the team defensively with 22 digs. 

LOOKING AHEAD
  • The Falcons continue will finish up conference play on Saturday, Nov 2 against UW-Platteville.  Game time is 4pm.
