Falcon's Season Comes to End in NCAA Championship

ST. PAUL, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team's season came to an end Saturday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA tournament.  The Falcons fell to Hamline University 1-5.
 
Hamline struck first in the opening period scoring at 17:57.  They followed it up in the second period with a shorthand goal at 5:15 and then again at 14:47 with a power play goal. 
 
The Falcons scored their lone goal in the final seconds of the second period.  Bella Wagner found the back of the net at 19:46 on a pass from Erica Schramel and Hailey Herdine.  The goal came on the power play opportunity.
 
The Pipers scored two more power play goals in the third period.  The first came at 13:55 and the second at 15:20. 
 
The Falcons had 26 shots on goal and were led by Abigail Stow who had five.  Sami Miller had 30 saves in goal. 
 
The Falcons finish the 2018-19 season with an overall record of 23-6.  They finished first in the WIAC regular season standings with an 8-1 conference record.
