Douglas Steps Down As Track and Field Coach

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) - Danielle Douglas has resigned as the cross country and track & field coach at UW-River Falls to pursue another coaching opportunity.

Douglas who finished her fourth season at UWRF helped lead the women's cross country team to their most successful finish ever in the WIAC with a third place finish in 2017. Six runners have finished on the UWRF top-20 times list since she began in the fall of 2015, including three runners in the top five. The team also achieved their first-ever ranking in the DIII National Coaches Poll in 2017.

Douglas has also coached two men's and two women's runners who have qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships. The Falcons have also had success in track & field, where the men's indoor team was ranked in the top-20 in 2016 and 2017. The men's outdoor team was ranked in the top-30 in 2017.

She has coached four WIAC champions and six NCAA Championship participants that have appeared in 11 total events, including six top-10 finishes.
