RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team opened the 2019 season with an overtime 3-2 home win Friday afternoon against Ripon College.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST RIPON
- Maggie Koehler scored all three goals for the Falcons, scoring her second career hat trick. Her first came last season against Lawrence University.
- Koehler tied the match up 1-1 at 50:07 when she scored on a pass from Mariah Troje.
- At 86:31, Koehler again tied the game up this time scoring on a pass from Lexi Peterson.
- Koehler had the game winning shot five minutes into the overtime period when she again connected with Mariah Troje to find the back of the net.
- Amanda Ladue got the win in goal for the Falcons. She had four saves and gave up one goal in her fifty minutes of work.
THE OPPOSITION
- The Red Hawks struck first scoring the first goal at 32:54 in the first half.
- Ripon was awarded a penalty shot at 54:44 and Brianna Schnell lifted one to the top right corner to give the Red Hawks a 2-1 lead in the second half.
- Stefani Zeiger recorded the loss for the Red Hawks. She had five saves and gave up three goals.
LOOKING AHEAD
The women's soccer team hosts Concordia College (Minn.) Sunday September 1 at 2 p.m. The Falcons beat the Cobbers last season 2-1 when the faced off in Moorhead.
