Women's Soccer Falls to Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. (uwrfsports.com) – The Falcon women's soccer team suffered their first loss in six games in a nonconference matchup against Nebraska Wesleyan.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
  • Mariah Troje scored the first goal of the afternoon at 23:44 giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead through the first half. 
  • NWU scored three goals in the second half.  The first came at 51:39.
  • The Wolves scored again at 70:56 and 89:05 to give them a 3-1 win.
  • Maggie Koehler, Lindsey Jack and Kari Rollo each had a multiple shot day. 
  • Haley Crosby collected the majority of minutes in goal for the Falcons.  She came out at the 89th minute after she was given a red card.  She gave up two goals and had three saves.
 
THE OPPOSITION
  • The Wolves outshot the Falcons 22-8 and had three different players score goals. 
  • Liz Wolf got the win in goal with four saves. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons host St. Scholastica in their annual rivalry match on October 2 at 3:30 pm.
