Women's Basketball Just Short in Final Home Game

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The women's basketball team fell to UW-Platteville in their final home game of the season.  Seniors Crystal Pearson and Lori Wardynski were two of the three leading scorers on what was senior night for the Falcons.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons shot 55.6 percent from the field in the first half, hitting 15-27, including 2-7 from three point, and 4-5 from the free throw line.
  • Crystal Pearson led the Falcons in the first half scoring 13 points on 6-9 shooting from the field.
  • The Falcons scored just two points off the bench overall. 
  • The Falcons went into halftime leading 36-30. 
  • UWRF shot 33.3 percent in the second half overall, making 8-24 field goals and making 1-6 three-pointers (16.7 percent).  They also hit 8-12 (66.7 percent) of their second half free throws.
  • Lori Wardynski led the Falcons in the second half with 10 points on 3-9 shooting and hitting 4-5 from the free throw line.
  • The Falcons finished the game with 38 points in the paint, 14 in the second half.
  • The Falcons also scored 17 points off of 17 Pioneer turnovers.
  • UWRF scored eight 2nd chance points in the game off of five offensive rebounds.
  • River Falls finished the game with 21 rebounds and eight steals.

  • Brianna Koop led the Falcons with 19 points off of 6-12 shooting from the field and hitting 7-9 from the free throw line.
  • Wardynski and Pearson finished the game with 16 and 13 points respectively.
  • UWRF made 23-51 shots (45.1 percent) from the floor in the loss. They went 3-13 from behind the arc (23.1 percent), and hit 12-17 free throws (70.6 percent).

  • Platteville was led by Maiah Domask with 15 points off of 7-10 shooting from the floor.
