Women's Basketball Loses Season Closer

OSHKOSH, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The women's basketball team fell to UW-Oshkosh in their final game of the season, 49-88..

Location:  Kolf Sports Center, Oshkosh, Wis.
Record: UWRF 5-20 (0-14 WIAC), UWO 15-10 (8-6 WIAC)
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons shot 40 percent from the field in the first half, hitting 10-25, including 2-9 (22.2 percent) from three point.
  • Crystal Pearson and Brianna Koop led the Falcons in the first half scoring nine points each.  Pearson hit 4-8 from the floor, while  Koop made 3-6.  
  • The Falcons scored just two points off the bench overall. 
  • The Falcons went into halftime trailing 26-47. 
  • UWRF shot 27.3 percent in the second half overall, making 6-22 field goals and making 3-9 three-pointers (33.3 percent).  They also hit 8-14 (57.1 percent) of their second half free throws.
  • Cassie Heinreichs led the Falcons in the second half with seven points on 3-4 shooting.
  • The Falcons finished the game with 12 points in the paint, four in the second half.
  • UWRF scored four 2nd chance points in the game off of six offensive rebounds.
  • River Falls finished the game with 27 rebounds and six steals.
