DUBUQUE, Iowa – The UW-River Falls bounced back from a two-match losing streak with a 3-1 road win at the University of Dubuqe on Saturday.
The Falcons improve their record back to .500 overall at 12-12.
After the home team went up 1-0 after a 25-19 first set victory, the Falcons responded with 25-21, 25-20, and 25-18 wins to down the Spartans in four sets.
UWRF tallied its most kills in four sets with 52 since a pair of 54-kill efforts verus Elmhurst (Oct. 2) and Saint Benedict (Sept. 25).
The Falcons limited Dubuque to a .185 hitting percentage while attacking at a rate of .244, including a 17-kill and .341 output in the final set to close out the match.
Katie Koerper led UWRF with 15 kills and a .412 attack percentage while
Haley Cuba totaled 38 assists and three service aces.
Brooke Voigt led the defense with 23 digs along with a pair of solo blocks from
Sarah Langlois.
The Falcons return to Page Arena and back to their WIAC schedule next Wednesday, Oct. 20, hosting UW-La Crosse.
