Hosting a home meet for the first time in over a year, the Falcons track and field team celebrated it's ten seniors while also churning out some noteworthy performances on the day.
"Even though the weather was cool, it was a great competition meet with lots of big marks set on the track and in the field events," said UW-River Falls head coach Colleen Sowa. "It was great to host an invitational at home as we were able to honor our 10 seniors on their home track and in front of spectators.
All these athletes have given to the program in their own ways and I truly appreciate all their hard work and dedication they have given to Falcon track and field."
If the old adage "good things come in threes" is to be believed, then Lexi LeFever seems to experience nothing but good. Continuing her dominating sophomore season, LeFever took first in the 100m (12.22), 200m (25.05), and the long jump (5.57m) proving over and over that she is one of the elite athletes in the WIAC.
Impressive as LeFever was, she wasn't the only Falcon that walked away with a performance to be proud of.Â
Freshman Maria Laudenbach crossed the line in first in the 5000 meter run at 18:32.29, almost 10 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
On the men's side, Dylan Wachter, who has had a season to remember in his own right, dominated the field in the 800m, taking first place in a breezy time of 1:57.06.
Also taking first place was Adam Jacobi, running the 10,000m in a time of 34:51.01.
