RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team swept Carleton College 3-0 Wednesday evening at Page Arena during the 2022 home opener.
The Falcons, now 5-0 overall, recorded a .320 hitting percentage while limiting the Knights to a rate of .119.
UWRF had its most efficient attacking rate in the first set, hitting .500 percent with 18 kills. The Falcons jumped out to a 7-2 lead and didn't look back, leading by as many as 18-8 after back-to-back kills from
Katelyn Maag and
Kameri Meredith.
The home team's attacking numbers didn't diminish in the middle frame, hitting .392 while limiting the visitors to a match-low .036 percentage.
Carleton pushed back in the third, tying the game late at 20-20, but the Falcons closed out set and match on a five-point streak, closed out with a
Grace Boles service ace for the win.
Meredith led UWRF with 14 kills, while
Brooke Voigt totaled 11 digs and four aces.
UWRF is back in action next with four games this weekend in Milwaukee and Kenosha.
