ST. PAUL, Minn. - The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams took part in the Holst Invitational Saturday afternoon at Sea Foam Stadium on the campus of Concordia-St. Paul.
The Falcons combined for six first place finishes and four UWRF top-ten times/marks.
On the men's side,
Jacob Balcome and
Joel Alexander shined with top-10 UWRF marks. Balcome won the long jump with a season-best 6.59-meter leap, while
Joel Alexander had a season-best mark of 13.23 meters in the triple jump.
Additionally,
Sam Peters won the 10k with a time of 32:44.56,
Josh VanOrdt won the javelin throw with a season-best 47.17-meter throw, and
Dylan Wachter won the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.27.
The Falcon women were led by
Laina Viere and
Katie Haase, both cracking the UWRF top-10 in their respective events. Viere won the 10k with a time of 37:42.63, while Haase had a personal record hammer throw of 47.37 meters.
UWRF's men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams both put together season best times. The men's team of
Matt Boche,
Trever Jensen,
Logan Munson, and
Dylan Wachter put together clocked a time of 3:29.81 while the women's squad of
Sarah Hansen,
Haylie Rasmussen,
Lexi LeFever, and
Cailyn Kuechle had a time of 4:18.57.
Next Saturday, April 27, the Falcons are slated to compete in the Macalester Invite as the final meet before the WIAC Outdoor Championships.
