ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The UW-River Falls men's and women's cross country teams continued their 2025 campaign this Saturday at the Augustana Interregional Invitational, hosted at Saukie Golf Course.
Women's Varsity 6k
The Falcon women placed 22nd out of 40 teams with 644 points, led once again by sophomore Adison Wilde, who clocked a 23:16.5 to place 83rd overall in a field of more than 300 runners. Junior Laina Viere followed closely behind in 23:40.9, while freshman Jalyssa Groskreutz (24:02.9) and junior Emma Karnitz (24:06.8, season best) rounded out a strong top four for UWRF. Sophomore Issabella Jeurissen (24:08.4) completed the Falcons' scoring five.
Men's Varsity 8k
On the men's side, the Falcons placed 27th out of 36 teams with 753 points. Senior Logan Munson paced the Falcons, finishing in 26:10.8 to lead the team in 135th place overall. Sophomore Jack Richter followed with a time of 26:17.5, while teammates Ryan Pierson (26:26.4) and Wyatt Johnson (26:31.9) joined the top pack. Sophomore Alex Pazdernik (26:45.8, season best) rounded out the scoring five.
The meet served as a tune-up for both programs as they continue preparations for the WIAC Championships, scheduled for Nov. 1 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The Falcons will look to build on their progress from Rock Island as they gear up for the conference championship meet.
