UWRF multi-event athletes head to Santa Barbara for Klein-Nwaba Combined Events meet

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — The UW-River Falls track and field program is set to officially kick off its 2025 spring season at the Klein-Nwaba Combined Events meet in Santa Barbara, California. The meet is hosted by Santa Barbara Track Club at Westmont College.

The Falcons will send specifically their multi-athletes to compete in the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon. Sophomore Jacob Balcome leads the Falcons after winning a national championship in the indoor heptathlon just one week ago in Rochester, New York.

The two-day event is set to begin on March 20 and conclude on March 21. The men's decathlon is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday and 10:30 a.m. on Friday, while the women's heptathlon will start at noon on Thursday and 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
