Balcome and Gunderson selected to participate at 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The NCAA announced the 2025 Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship qualifiers today, with UW-River Falls' Jacob Balcome and Annika Gunderson, earning a spot to compete at the championships.

The trio will compete March 14-15 at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, New York. The championships are hosted by Nazareth University and Visit Rochester.

Balcome qualified in the men's heptathlon, while Gunderson will compete in the women's pole vault. 

Balcome, a sophomore, enters the meet ranked second in Division III in the heptathlon, after scoring a program-record 5,208 points at the 2025 WIAC Indoor Championships. He placed first overall, becoming the first ever Falcon to win a conference title in heptathlon.

Gunderson, a junior, will be making her third consecutive trip to the NCAA Indoor Championships for pole vault. She ranks 13th in Division III entering the meet, with a mark of 3.83 meters (12-6.75).
