RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) today announced its 2025 Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-Region recognitions, with UW-River Falls athletes Jacob Balcome and Yaih Marial earning all-region honors for the North Region.
The all-region accolade is awarded to the top five performers in each men's and women's event and the top three relay teams.
Balcome finished the season ranked second in the men's decathlon with a score of 6,915, a UWRF program record. The sophomore from Alexandria, Minnesota recorded the score just one week after winning the indoor national championship for the heptathlon. Balcome scored 6,802 points in the decathlon at the 2025 WIAC Outdoor Track Championships, placing first overall.
Marial earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors after finishing the season tied for third in the North Region in men's high jump with a mark of 2.06 meters (6-9). The junior from Rochester, Minnesota recorded the mark at the 2025 WIAC Outdoor Track Championships, placing second overall.
The Falcons are set to compete at the 2025 NCAA National Championships in Geneva, Ohio. The championships take place May 22-24.
