The UW-River Falls men's soccer program is set to embark on its second season as a program, opening the 2025 season with a road match at Carleton on Friday, August 29.
The Falcons enter the 2025 season looking to build on the success of the program's inaugural 2024 season. UWRF totaled eight wins and went 3-2 in WIAC play, earning the third seed in the WIAC Tournament — the Falcons advanced to the semifinals before falling to UW-Platteville one game shy of the WIAC Championship.

FALCON NOTES
- The Falcons are coming off an 8-11 season in the team's inaugural season as a program. UWRF captured a 3-1 win against Crown College in the team's first game, before later earning a 3-1 win over UW-Whitewater in the program's first WIAC contest. Four Falcons earned First Team All-WIAC honors at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
- The 2025 opener will mark the second time that UW-River Falls and Carleton have met in men's soccer. The Knights were victorious 3-0 at Ramer Soccer Stadium last season.
- The Falcons return First Team All-WIAC players Ben Harris and Sorel Richardson.
- Evan Sassano leads UWRF in his second season as head coach. Last season, Sassano and the UWRF coaching staff earned WIAC Coaching Staff of the Year recognition.
- Following the season opener at Carleton, the Falcons will host Wisconsin Lutheran on Sept. 1 and Lawrence on Sept. 4.
