UWRF Cross Country Receives USTFCCCA Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. — The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2025 Cross Country All-Academic awards on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, with both the UW-River Falls men's and women's cross country teams earning recognition.

In addition, Laina Viere earned 2025 Women's Cross Country All-Academic recognition for the second consecutive season. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. Viere received All-Region honors after placing 17th at the NCAA Division III North Regional Championships on Nov. 15, 2025, qualifying for the national championship meet.

As a team, under head coach Meaghan Koski, the Falcon women accumulated a 3.58 GPA, while the men's team finished with a 3.27. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
