MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for Oct. 12-18, with UW-River Falls sophomore goalkeeper
Courtney Bain earning Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.
A native of Sussex, Wis., Bain receives her second career WIAC weekly accolade after anchoring the Falcon defense to a 1-0-1 week, recording 16 saves and a shutout, while posting an .889 save percentage.
Bain made five saves in a 4-2 victory over St. Norbert College, and followed up with one of her top performances of the season against UW-Stevens Point, stopping all 11 shots on goal she faced in a scoreless draw to collect her fifth shutout on the year. She finished the week with a 1.00 goals-against average and an .889 save percentage.
The Falcons (7-2-4, 0-1-3 WIAC) host UW-Stout tomorrow afternoon at Ramer Soccer Stadium with a 3 p.m. kickoff.
