RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team closed out its 2026 season Saturday afternoon at Ramer Field, falling 5-1 to UW-Oshkosh in WIAC action.
The Falcons finished the season with a 7-5-5 overall record and a 0-3-4 mark in WIAC play.
UW-Oshkosh opened the scoring early in the contest, with Greta Steines finding the back of the net in the sixth minute to give the Titans a 1-0 advantage. Nadia Epshteyn extended the lead in the 14th minute on a penalty kick before adding her second goal of the afternoon in the 24th minute, sending the Titans into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
The Falcons generated eight shots in the opening half, including four on goal, but were unable to break through the UW-Oshkosh defense.
The Titans continued their offensive momentum in the second, as Epshteyn completed her hat trick in the 59th minute off an assist from Ariana Gonzalez. Addyson Knoebel added another in the 71st minute to extend the UW-Oshkosh advantage to 5-0.
UW-River Falls responded in the 74th minute when
Lexi Moen found the back of the net off an assist from
Ava Marelic, putting the Falcons on the scoreboard and cutting the deficit to 5-1.
Despite the Titans having the lead, the Falcons continued to generate offensive chances throughout the second half, outshooting the Titans 12-11 over the final 45 minutes.
Emery Bigler led the Falcons offensively with five shots, including three on goal, while Moen recorded two shots on goal and the team's lone goal.
Courtney Bain finished with 11 saves in net over 77 minutes of action before
Kiera Nelson entered for the final 13 minutes.
UW-Oshkosh held a 27-20 advantage in total shots, while the Falcons earned six corner kicks compared to three for the Titans.
The matchup marks the conclusion of the Falcons' 2026 campaign, finishing with seven victories and five draws.
