MADISON, Wis. – UW-River Falls women's hockey freshman forward Blake Schultz (East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Ice Hockey Athlete of the Week following her collegiate debut weekend that helped the No. 1-ranked Falcons secure a two-game sweep over Saint Mary's University (Minn.).

Schultz made an immediate impact in her first two collegiate appearances, totaling five goals and one assist for six points as the Falcons opened their season with a pair of victories.

In her collegiate debut on Oct. 30, Schultz found the back of the net twice, helping lead UWRF to a 6-1 victory over the Cardinals. The freshman followed up her opening performance with an even stronger showing on Oct. 31, recording her first collegiate hat trick while adding an assist for a four-point performance in the Falcons' 7-4 win.

Schultz's five-goal weekend helped power the Falcons' offense, which totaled 13 goals across the two contests.

The Falcons are back on home ice this Thursday as they face No.7 Augsburg, puck drop at 7 p.m.
