HOUSTON, Tx. – The UW-River Falls track and field team sent its throwers to compete at the Kirk Baptiste Invitational, hosted by the University of Houston on Thursday, turning in a strong set of performances against a competitive field.
On the men's side, Charles Baker posted a throw of 49.94 meters (163-10) in the hammer throw, finishing fifth overall and recording a new personal-best in the first outdoor meet of the season.
On the women's side, Alexis Koch also earned a fifth-place finish with a mark of 47.01 meters (154-2). Close behind, Lauryn Schutz placed sixth with a throw of 46.95 meters (154-0).
Ali Clifford added an eighth-place finish with a personal-record mark of 43.48 meters (142-8), while Abby Biniek rounded out the Falcon competitors with a ninth-place throw of 38.94 meters (127-9).
