ST. PETER, Minn. – The Falcon men's and women's track & field teams turned in a strong display ahead of the WIAC Outdoor Championships this weekend at the Drake Alternative.
MEN'S RESULTS
On the track,
Wyatt Johnson claimed the 1500m title with a winning time of 4:01.55, while
Alex Pazdernik followed close behind in second with a PR time of 4:03.75.
In the 800m,
Kaden Tinney placed third (1:58.87), and
Bryant Motzer added a sixth-place finish (2:00.15).
Keegan Patten took third in the 400m hurdles (58.64).
In the field,
Cole Darling brings home a personal-record first-place finish in the pole vault (4.55m),
Bryant Molamphy placed second (4.33m).
Logan Schmidt also brings home the shot put title with a toss of 15.41m, and
Caleb Nyamari added a third-place finish in the triple jump (13.12m).
Charles Baker was another top performer in the throws, finishing third in the hammer (50.68m PR) and fifth in the discus (42.64m).
Finally, the men's 4x100m relay team (
Theodore Hovde,
Isaiah Juneski,
Ryan Pidgeon,
Ben Johnson) secured another first-place finish with a sub 42.50 finish.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
Georgia Mundt led the way with a first-place finish in the discus (43.64m), followed by
Maleah Petersen in second place with a throw of 40.72m.
In the hammer throw, the Falcons swept first and second as
Alexis Koch won the event (50.70m) and
Ali Clifford placed second with a new personal-record throw of 48.51m. Clifford added another victory in the shot put (12.71m) that continued her strong day in the field.
Annika Gunderson led the Falcons in the pole vault bringing home the title with a vault of 3.44m followed closely behind by
Bene Smith in third (3.29m).
Savannah Leopold grabbed a scond-place mark in the long jump with a leap of 4.98m.
On the track,
Adison Wilde and
Madison Whitman placed second and third in the 800m with times of 2:19.29 and 2:19.33 (PR), respectively. In the 1500m,
Jalyssa Groskreutz recorded a fourth-place finish (4:56.92) while
Issabella Jeurissen placed sixth (4:59.19).
The Falcons had a strong relay performance day as well with the 4x400m relay team (
Taylor Matter,
Madison Whitman,
Greta Lauer,
Aly Jeurissen) finishing second (4:12.28) and the 4x100m relay team (
Lauren Machacek,
Finley Noll,
Taylor Matter,
Bene Smith) also took second (50.69).
