Box Score RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's tennis team secured its first home win of the spring Tuesday evening, defeating Northwestern (Minn.) 5-2 at the Ramer Tennis Courts.
The Falcons controlled matches early, sweeping all three doubles flights to take a 1-0 lead heading into singles play. The top pairing of Sydney Wiener and Sarah Baker earned a 7-5 win, while Audrey Ladewig and Hailey Reuvers followed with a 6-4 victory. Mykela Hanson and Emma Yanish completed the sweep with a 6-3 win.
In singles action, UWRF picked up four wins to seal the team victory. Wiener led the way at No. 1 with a strong 6-4, 6-2 performance. Reuvers added a straight-set win at No. 4 (6-4, 6-4), while Hanson (6-1, 6-3) and Yanish (6-2, 6-3) each delivered victories at No. 5 and No. 6.
Northwestern claimed points at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, with both matches going to tight third-set tiebreakers.
