RIVER FALLS, Wis. – DIII Hockey News announced its 2025-26 women's hockey national awards April 6-9, with five student-athletes from UW-River Falls recognized.

Headlining the awards was Megan Goodreau honored as the Player of the Year, and Sophia Hess the Rookie of the Year. The duo also received spots on the All-American West First Team, and Hess additionally was selected to the All-Rookie Team.

Goodreau, also the AHCA Laura Hurd Player of the Year, tied an NCAA Division III record with 77 points this season on 37 goals and 40 assists, setting UW-River Falls and WIAC single-season records while also matching an NCAA DIII record with 18 power-play goals. She earned WIAC Player of the Year honors and became UWRF's all-time leading scorer with 209 career points, while finishing as the NCAA Division III all-time leader with 35 career power-play goals.

Hess, the WIAC Newcomer of the Year and a finalist for the Laura Hurd Award, was the nation's top-scoring freshman, finishing second nationally in scoring behind Goodreau with 60 points on 28 goals and 32 assists.

In addition, MaKenna Aure joined Goodreau & Hess on the West First Team, Jordan O'Kane was named to the Second Team, and Alexa Niccum was tabbed to the Third Team.

The Falcons turned in a 30-1 overall record in 2025-26, winning the national championship for the third year in a row with a 4-0 win over Nazareth University on Sunday, March 29 at Hunt Arena.
