The UW-River Falls men's soccer team is set for its 2026 home opener, hosting the Edgewood Eagles on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Ramer Soccer Stadium.

The Falcons enter their third season as a program under head coach Evan Sassano. UWRF is coming off a 2025 season in which the Falcons finished 3-10-4 overall and 0-3-2 in WIAC play.

FALCON NOTES

• UW-River Falls enters its third season as a varsity men's soccer program. The Falcons went 3-10-4 overall last season, including a 3-4-2 record at Ramer Soccer Stadium.
• The Falcons scored 23 goals in 17 games during the 2025 season while totaling 207 shots and 78 corner kicks.
• Sorel Richardson returns after leading UWRF with five goals last season. He ended the season with 10 points and led the Falcons with 41 shots, including 16 shots on goal.
• Mauricio Cuevas scored three goals with one assist for seven points in 17 appearances last season.
• Carter Eklund appeared in all 17 games and tied for the team lead with three assists in 2025.
• Richardson and Eklund were both named to the 2025 All-WIAC First Team last season. 
• UWRF earned all three of its 2025 wins at home, defeating Wisconsin Lutheran 2-1, Lawrence 3-0, and Concordia-Moorhead 4-2.
• Evan Sassano leads the Falcons in his third season as head coach. Sassano and the UWRF coaching staff earned WIAC Coaching Staff of the Year recognition following the program's inaugural 2024 season.
