SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team swept UW-Superior and St. Scholastica on Saturday at the UWS Stinger Classic.
After a 3-1 win on Friday over Marian University, UWRF finished the weekend 3-0 without dropping a set on Saturday, improving to 8-2 overall on the season.
For their performances on the weekend, Blessing Adebisi and Grace McDole were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
UWRF heads into WIAC play next weekend, facing No. 1-ranked and defending national champion UW-Oshkosh on Friday, Sept. 25.
UW-River Falls 3, UW-Superior
During the Falcons' second match of the weekend and first of the day, they earned a straight-set victory over the host Yellowjackets, winning 25-17, 25-19, 25-23.
UWRF totaled 43 kills while limiting UWS to 28 and held a .137 to .029 advantage in hitting percentage. The Falcons also finished with 71 digs compared to UW-Superior's 54.
Blessing Adebisi led the Falcon attack with a match-high 13 kills while hitting .360, committing just four errors on 25 attempts. She also contributed four block assists.
Grace McDole added eight kills and 14 digs, while Emily Brenner totaled seven kills and 15 digs. Lauren Noth recorded five kills while hitting .308, and Amanda Baumann added five kills with a .286 hitting percentage.
Cora Sayotovich and Olivia Noble directed the offense with 18 and 14 assists, respectively. Audrey Petersen led all players defensively with 21 digs.
The Falcons recorded 17 kills in a 25-17 opening-set victory before taking the second set 25-19. The third set featured seven ties and three lead changes, but UWRF closed out the sweep with a 25-23 win.

UWRF wrapped up the weekend defeating St. Scholastica 25-17, 25-20, 25-16.
The Falcons put together a strong offensive performance, hitting .214 with 38 kills while holding St. Scholastica to a -.020 hitting percentage and 25 kills. The Falcons also totaled eight blocks and five service aces.
Blessing Adebisi led the attack for the second consecutive match, totaling a match-high 11 kills while hitting .400. She added six block assists to finish with a match-best 14 points.
Amanda Baumann was also efficient offensively, recording nine kills on 15 attempts with just two errors for a team-best .467 hitting percentage. Emily Brenner added eight kills, eight digs and a service ace.
Cora Sayotovich directed the offense with 21 assists while adding four digs and an ace. Lauren Noth contributed five block assists as UWRF's defense helped hold the Saints to a negative hitting percentage in each of the first two sets and .000 in the third.
The Falcons took the opening set 25-17 before pulling away for a 25-20 second-set victory. UWRF closed out the day in convincing fashion with a 25-16 win in the third.
