RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The UW-River Falls women's tennis team continued its WIAC schedule with a 5-2 loss against UW-Stout Polytechnic on Wednesday afternoon at Ramer Tennis Courts.
The Falcons opened the match by taking one of three doubles contests. At No. 1 doubles, Brooke Lindeman and Sydney Wiener earned a convincing 6-1 win over Prajna Hosamane and Gretchen Murphy.
UWRF picked up a pair of victories in singles play, led by Wiener at the No. 2 position. She cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Murphy. Melina Lee also earned a straight-set win at No. 5 singles, defeating Lindsay Leuzinger 7-6, 6-1.
The Falcons nearly added two more singles victories in a pair of three-set battles. Lindeman won her opening set 6-1 at No. 1 singles before Molly Garber rallied to win consecutive tiebreakers, 7-6, 7-6. At No. 6, Jaimey Jessen-Olson forced a third set with a 6-1 win in the second before falling 6-4 in the deciding frame.

This weekend, the Falcons are set for their first tournament action of the fall, competing at ITA Midwest Regional Championships in Saint Peter, Minn., hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.
