1987 Hall of Fame Inductees

Jane Ubbelohde
Jane Ubbelohde competed in track and field at UW-RF and set several indoor and outdoor records. She earned four letters (1975-79), and was twice the team's co-captain. She won conference titles in the mile relay, 440-yard relay, 60-yard dash, 300-yard dash and 220-yard dash. In all she won seven conference titles. She also set six outdoor, and five indoor track records at UW-RF. Seven times she was named to the all-conference track and field teams. Ubbelohde was named the team's Most Valuable Performer four times. She earned two letters with the Falcon field hockey team.

 

Mike Will
Mike Will lettered eight times in two sports at UW-RF, football and baseball. He played football from 1972-75 and baseball from 1973-76. Will, a defensive back for the Falcons, was on the 1975 WSUC championship winning team, the first title won by the Falcons since 1958. He set a national record in 1975 with 15 interceptions. His 13 interceptions in WSUC games still stands as a record. He was the winner of the WSUC's Most Valuable Player award, and was the first Falcon to ever receive the honor. He was named to the first NAIA All-American and all-WSUC teams.

 

Jerry Halvorson
Jerry Halvorson participated in three sports at UW-RF from 1959-63. He lettered four times in wrestling (1960-63). He was a WSUC champion, and also earned NAIA All-American honors in 1963. He placed second in the 1962 conference meet, and third in 1961. He lettered twice in track (1960-61), and placed sixth in the mile run at the conference meet in 1961. He lettered three times (1959-61) in cross country.

 

DeWayne Johnson
DeWayne Johnson has had illustrious careers as a player at UW-RF, and as a coach at several high schools. He earned eight letters in football and baseball at UW-RF. He was co-captain of the football team, and was named to the all-District team. He was also a member of the Falcon baseball teams that won two conference titles. He served as baseball coach at New Richmond High School where his teams won two conference and a sectional title. At Plymouth he was head football coach for 10 years and coached four undefeated conference championship winning teams. His teams played in three state playoffs, and won the state title in 1976 and 1978. At Anoka he coached an undefeated conference football team in 1985, and his clubs have made the state playoffs several times.

 

Paul Rozak
Paul Rozak was an outstanding performer on the track at UW-RF. At UW-RF Rozak earned four track letters, was named the team MVP, captain and competed in national competition three straight years. At one time he held seven Falcon and a WSUC track record. He was the school's Scholar Athlete in 1973. He has coached two WISAA state cross country championship winning teams (boys, 1974, girls 1983). As a girl's basketball coach he was named the CWCC Coach of the Year twice, and his 1980 team won the WISAA state title. He has taken seven teams to the regional championship game. He has also won several community awards including the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce Citizenship award.

 

Bob Schulz
Bob Schulz lettered four times with the Falcon football team from 1966-69, and was captain of the 1969 team. He also earned one wrestling letter. Schulz is also won of the most successful high school football coaches in the nation. In 16 years at De Soto High School he coached the football team to three state championships (1976, 83, 84). Two other times (1985, 86) his teams were runner-ups in the state playoffs. He has coached six regular season undefeated teams, and has been named a district Coach of the Year three times. His teams have won 12 conference titles, and at one time had the longest winning streak in the state at 37 games. He has also been successful as a baseball, track, wrestling and basketball coach.
