The coSIDA Academic All-American award is one of the highest honors a student-athlete can receive which highlights both their academic and athletic excellence. In order to be considered for this award student-athletes must meet all the following criteria.
- The student-athlete must be nominated by staff at their home institution
- The student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
- The student-athlete must have participated in at least 50% of their teams games during their career at their home institution
- The student-athlete must have completed on full year at their current institution and be at least a sophomore in their athletic eligibility
